TheMachineBreakers
The Band
The Machine Breakers hail from Oxfordshire. Their work is critically acclaimed with the album the Bells Ring Anyway nominated for a U.S. Indie Acoustic Award. The release of the band’s fifth studio album saw the title track The Land Was Stolen used in the documentary The Great British Mortgage Swindle. They have been played on radio throughout the country, including the BBC Radio 2 Folk Show, and a live session at the BBC Pebble Mill studio. To quote Dave Gilyeat from BBC Introducing - "I’m glad I got to play that, The Machine Breakers with Time Waits for No Man, so lush, it’s got that hefty guitar sound and plucking strings, masterfully put together." Over the years Julian Pollard’s songwriting has won plaudits from many a diverse quarter, including Mike Harding, Ray Davies and Steve Winwood.
Festival credits include: The Larmer Tree, Broadstairs, Wimbourne, Bridgenorth, Cromer, Wheaton Aston, Hook Norton, Wallingford Bunkfest, and Beggars Fair.
