The Machine Breakers are powerful and passionate trio with Julian Pollard on vocals and strumming guitar, talented multi-instrumentalist Mark Platt and Steve Matthews (also of Hedgepig) on mandola and tenor guitar. The band is also joined on a regular basis by other talented musicians including Catherine Oldham on cello, Steve Preston on keyboards and Alesandra Di Prospero on flute. The Machine Breakers are contemporary English acoustic music that bites.

Their work is critically acclaimed: Sea Green described as ‘a masterpiece’, The Bells Ring Anyway nominated for a U.S. Indie Acoustic Award, their live album Sunday Evening - 10 PM hailed as a ‘fantastic collection of work to date’, live performance noted as ‘stunning.…passionately intense’, and with the album Eight Men from Three Beams they venture forth ‘once more with this brilliant studio work’. The band have just released their fifth studio album The Land Was Stolen. The track Among the Boxes from the new album has been made into their first video and is now available on YouTube. Their work is regularly played on radio throughout the country including The Mike Harding Show on BBC Radio 2.
